Is this the right course for me?
Are you completely new to yoga or have you practiced a little in the past but would like to learn more about the fundamentals of yoga before progressing your practice? Perhaps yoga has been recommended to you by a health professional for its benefits? If any of that applies to you then Beginner Yoga is absolutely the right course for you. Please note that this course is not recommended for those that are pregnant.
About the course
The 6 week course has been designed with yoga beginners in mind and is taught in a down to earth style. You don’t need to have any previous yoga experience and all necessary equipment will be provided. Over the six weeks you will be taught the fundamentals of beginner yoga in a safe, attentive and non-judgemental way, so that you can increase in confidence as you learn. The class is generally capped at 10 students to ensure that you all receive individual attention and maximum benefit from the class. The class is 90 minutes long, including a warm up phase, main phase and relaxation/cool down (with guided meditation).
Together we’ll look at:
An introduction to yoga poses (asanas).
In introduction to yoga breath work (pranayama).
Guided 10 minute meditation during class relaxation
What do I need to bring?
All equipment is provided for you so you don’t need to worry about bringing anything with you (ideal if you’re coming straight from work). I recommend that you wear comfortable, non restrictive clothing such as leggings, shorts or tracksuit bottoms (typical gym wear). The only thing I don’t provide is a yoga bolster so if you have one that you would like to bring with you please feel free to do so. I also recommend that you bring a water bottle with you so that can stay hydrated throughout the class.
You will be provided with:
- A yoga mat
- Yoga strap
- Yoga bricks x 2
- Yoga block x 1
